Default Wanted, MM or MC cartridge WHY

Hi all, I am looking for a MM or MC cart as a back up to the ones I usually use. Budget is not huge unfortunately, I prefer to keep it around £100, which probably means I would get a better MM than MC, but I could go a few quid extra if I need to.

    Cheers.

Audio Technica AT95EX, cheep and cheerful but surprisingly good for very little money, Rega Carbon is not bad either.

I’ve had quite a selection of sub £100 MMs and tbh the ones I’ve mentioned are as good as if not better than something like a 2M Red, if it’s only for a backup they should be good enough, if you want better get a Nagaoka MP110.

Well I would use it too, I like to rotate my carts quite regularly. I have actually been looking at the Nagoka MP110 but know nothing about them, what do you think?

Take a look on youtube at the cartridge comparisons done by an asian guy who goes under the youtube name Hifivinylnews , it came out top in his review, I have just parted with my MP110 as I’ve moved up to a more expensive MC.

Could be Jake, but what is a T4P fitting & would it affect fitment to a Townshend Rock outrigger?

    Hi Brook
I have a boxed Audio technica at440mlb with very little used time (on my vintage turntable) or an ADC zlm which has only played 2 albums .
    Both are mint..

    Regards Steve

I’ll drop you a pm tomorrow mate, sent some pics by email. The cartridge adaptor basically turns a tp4 cart into a standard fit.
