Yep, just about everything electronica is on CD. Personal faves on vinyl, Beaucoup Fish by Underworld. Alternative Lightsource by Leftfield. Friendly Bacteria by Mr Scruff although I would use the electronica term loosely.

A week back I bought a two vinyl set by Dan Terminus called The Wrath of Code which I really do have to warn against. The production is truly appalling with sound being so heavily compressed there is simply no volume or dynamic to any of the album. The music of course is so personal but this should never have been pressed onto vinyl and as it was it is clear that no one oversaw the production.

Default schallwen awards 2018 - electronica artists

Syngate have been around for a very long time 10+ years and do lots of electronica, not just berlin school (luna and wave label cover other styles) but most artists here originate from Berlin style.

Also try DiN records (Ian boddy) who is a master synthesis and runs his own record label.

Also check this list for the schallwen awards 2018. These are the selections for best electronica released in 2017 and you can vote for your favourite. Some big names in this list which everyone knows and who usually win due to their status but there are many lesser known who I think are personally better but this is a matter of taste I guess.

If you only frequent the high street for CD or LP for electronica then usually its a very sad state of affairs once you dig deeper in this field of music with mainstream stores being a very poor representation with mostly EDM stuff and the same old recycled. Some of the best music in these fields is not on CD and is digital only. Syngate and DIN plus the awards nominations are a great place to start.

I have about 700 electronica style albums and I bet less than 1% I found on the high-street. Almost forgot... This is a good review site and Sylvain has been reviewing electronica releases for a long time.

I buy loads of CDs from them, good selection and good prices too especially on used.

    No vinyl though.

    Default Spotify

Another option I forgot to add... there is a Syngate records artist list on spotify I made which helps to find new music and you can branch off from this list to find other artists.
You can listen to for free plus login with any Facebook account so you do not need a dedicated spotify account or the app.

Sound quality for the free service is not as good as a real digital or CD but what do you want for free.

ou might slip, you might slide, you might
Stumble and fall by the road side
But don't you ever let nobody drag your spirit down
Remember you're walking up to heaven

Don't let nobody turn you around
… Walk with the rich, walk with the poor
Learn from everyone, that's what life is for
And don't you let nobody drag your spirit down
