    It's not going to be the transformer Geoff if one channel is OK.

    I recall there being separate rectifiers for each channel that are mounted above the transformer, check those first.

    I'll be doing that Alan, thanks. The rectifiers are dirt cheap so I may bung a new pair in anyway. I need to find my meters so I can check what's coming through. Buggered if I know what I've done with them. I have several.

    I'm currently using a JVC AX 1010TN.
    Source is a Sonos connect and Royd Merlin speakers.
    A lot has been talked about this amplifier in PFM and I wanted to have a go.
    The hype is confirmed.
    This old lump of jap engineering sounds a lot better than any Naim and Exposure amps that I have owned.

    They’ll be under all that hifi clutter you need to get rid of

    Sugden A28.... at the price paid it i couldn't say no cosmetically challenged at the mo & working fine..

    Its a very early & rare Mark 1....

    Might try one of these meself one day.

    The JVC AX-A441 is very nice if you can find one. Excellent MM/MC stage and plenty of power.
