I like spring too. Coming out of the dark and into a new season of life. Looked forward immensely to it when I had the greenhouse

Weather's being strange. The earlier frost has gone because the temperature has risen a few degrees and it's now raining.

....and (for me) six weeks off all alcohol for Lent? Joy oh joy, lol

Yeah I get all that, and of course (as referred to above) the most important celebration of the Catholic year is at Easter. However, as a season in itself, I still prefer others, as mentioned before.

I get excited mostly when I have holidays and family/friends get-togethers (nice meals, etc) to look forward to, and I still love winter (I quite like the dark), regardless of the short days. I generally have more fun/things to look forward to in the summer and winter months, so that's a big factor for me in terms of the seasons I enjoy.

The colder, dark nights simply provide a reason to light the wood burner, along with some candles, and make the house nice and cosy (as you know, our house lends itself to wintertime), in a way that can't be achieved during spring or summer, and I really like that. Plus, I don't suffer from SAD/depression or have any issues in terms of feeling the cold - quite the opposite, in fact.

We're just wired differently, that's all

It's starting to thaw a little here, but not much. Still plenty of snow around. It will go soon enough though, especially when it rains, as the temperature has risen to 7°C.
