Default Amplifier reccomendations - possibly vintage

    Hi,

I am looking for an amp to go with some mordaunt short pageat 2 speakers.

One possibility is the a&r a60.

Would something like a trio ka-2002
Or sansui au-101 (12 wpc) be good?

Any reccomendatio s for amps up to around 150?

Also, tne pageant 2 speakers are rated as
    6.5v rms (5.3w) to produce 96db at 1 meter.

Can anyone please convert this to the standard sensitivity for 2.83v at 1 meter so i can understand it a bit better?

    Thanks for any help.

Depends what level you want to play at. 12 watts would probably be fine if you don't want to rock out. I reckon your speakers are about 87dB for 1 watt sensitive at the standard measure. 87db is well into rocking out level, you will lose a bit depending on how far away you are listening of course.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

Approx 89dB/W, accurate enough for amp matching purposes I'd have thought. An old Sugden A48 (?) would make a sweet combo but maybe over budget. It's odd the way those 70s Sansui amps are coming back. They were always regarded and reviewed as mid-fi average performers back in the day. There's a Luxman for £160 on one of the forums, that would be nice and a big step up in quality compared to the Sansui IMHO?

    Wouldn’t a Denon 350 SE be suitable ? I love mine

    It would be perfect!

Any of the amps in the first post will work OK too, as would a NAD 3020a or Audiolab 8000 and Denon PMA-250SE.

The Pageants are not difficult to drive.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

May I suggest you scroll down and have a look at the amps here...

That NAD C320BEE has surely got to be a bargain (I do like used HiFi that's mint). Other interesting stuff too.

    Enjoy shopping ;-)
