    Default Hello

Hello, I am from West Yorkshire and mainly play vinyl on a Linn LP12.
My kit is a mix of Naim, Avondale and Transcendent valve, music tastes are varied but mainly from the 70s and 80s.
Just venturing into a Raspberry Pi streamer project if Santa is kind.

    Hello Hugh. Welcome to AOS.

That's a fairly classic bunch of equipment you have there. What speakers do you have?

If you want info on streaming, take a look through our Digital Expressions section, you should find it useful.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Hi Geoff I have a pair of Spendor A5s which I am really pleased with, amazing how much bass the relatively small enclosure can generate.

Hi Andy, good to hear from you, I am retired now so remarkably I am very busy.
Your equipment list looks very impressive I am still pleased with mine but still have a hankering for a 401, but I may have missed the boat on that one.
Just fitted an Ortofon Quintet Blue to the Linn and so far I am very impressed, I was using a 103r before and the sound is very different.
