I'm Dave.
Hi Dave
Will go compare other speakers and see if that will satisfy my quest for a better top end
Thanks for your help!!
Steve...
It's good that you have experimented with cables, so you can now understand that what you're looking for is more than what cables can offer.
Another idea that won't involve any equipment changes: have you tried spreading your speakers a bit further apart and toeing them in a bit more?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".
“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”
"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”
“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Thanks, that's something i can try right now ( hang on )!!!
Yep, that made a little difference also an improvement in sound stage but still a little dull

Try some SUPERTWEETERS, these are widely known to give top end sparkle.

I'm Malcolm.
Do you have the M20's very close to the rear wall?
Understand this can impact their sound, believe they require a bit of room to hit the right tonal balance so try moving them a little further into the room.
Do you have them toed into the position where you listen?

I'm Bob.
Have you considered your room that you listen to music in.
All the cables in the world aren't going to overcome a poorly laid out and unsuitably furnished room.
This may go against the grain on here, but in my book the room setup is almost as important as the list of gear you have.
EDIT: Had started my post before yours Eaton Mess and got distracted so hadn't seen your post.
I Think Malcolm and Bob may be right
Just tried my turntable amp and speakers in a different room and it sounds fantastic, so much more top end, really sweet sound.
Guess i need to try playing around with the furnishing and curtains in my living room.
Still cant believe the difference in sound ( really mad ) wouldn't have believed it if i hadn't heard the difference myself..
Thanks guys, you saved me a lot of money and time running round looking for what i already had
Regards Steve...
Just goes to show throwing money at the problem wouldn't have solved my problem.... the issue was my room

Great, had a feeling it could be resolved without component changes. If you can take a photo of your room (front and back walls) it'd help us in terms of what you can do. Additionally, as I mentioned earlier, some decoupling techniques could help get the room more out of the equation with minimal outlay.
