    Echoes my view.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    !
Anyone who thinks that life started here on Earth quite by accident, does not understand the complexities of DNA. The chances of DNA happening by accident are similar to a wind storm blowing through a junk yard and accidentally building an Airbus A-380!

Yes, in fact the laws of physics seem disconcertingly fine-tuned for the existence of life as we know it. A smidgeon different here or there and no us.
    But maybe something else?

    So...
    God?
We live in a simulation whose goals include life? (same thing as God, really; universe created to allow our existence)
Multiple / parallel universes and we are in one of the tiny minority where we can be?
Infinite big bang cycles, and we are in one where we can be?
    Something else?

Guys, at the moment this discussion is fine, but could you please remember that there are members with religious beliefs (count me in as a practising Catholic) who may find some of the comments here offensive to their Christian faith, not least this:

Therefore, please refrain from making any further remarks of that nature - indeed if any are posted, they will simply be deleted. Cheers

Professor cox has clarified his position by stating there s quite likely to be organism type life around but we MAY be the only advanced civilisations
in our Milky Way.. He also says there could well be more advanced civilisations than ours in other galaxies. Nice post early doors by you Russell on
    this subject btw, very interesting.

    A quote from that article:
"...yet it would neatly explain why we have yet to see advanced intelligence in the cosmos around us..."
    Eh? Here's another explanation:
    It's too bl**dy far away!
