Default Revolver Deck Linn LVX arm woes

Hi Guys, been a while since I thought about vinyl but a conversation with Marco got reminded me of my TT stashed away in a box in the loft.

Following an unfortunate incident, the arm tube was snapped just behind the headshell. I'm sure I already know the answer but is it possible to repair the arm?

The photo attached is an image I found on ebay but its snapped pretty much where the picture starts

    +1

If anyone can sort it, he can.

If Johnie can't, the LVX goes for far less money than the inferior LVV for some obscure reason, so a replacement shouldn't be a problem and armed with metric Allen keys and some stud-loc, you'll have a half decent arm again in no time.

Jelco made the arm originally. I wonder if they make any compatible parts?

    Good luck!

Wouldnt it be cheaper buying a new LVX then get someone to do the work.

There are a couple on eBay at the moment. 1 for a 1st bid of £99 and 1 with a bin of £125.

In completed 1 didnt sell for £99, 1 went for £92 and one finished with no bids @ 99p(i'm guessing this finished early)

    Whats the arm really worth??

EDIT: It's marked a Basik LVX if that makes any difference

The basik Plus with fixed shell was better than your average over-tightened LVX, but both will now suffer from a fatigued liquifying counterweight decoupling tube and I don't think replacements are available...

If you get a replacement LVX, a few small drops of stud-loc around the rear of the socket in the gap where the pipe goes in works wonders for smoothing out the sharpness of the sound it otherwise has....

Funny, watched a complete revolver deck including the arm finish for £90 the other day! Thats more than the arm goes for on its own!!!
