Default Any comparisons between Rega RS3 & RS5s...

I have a pair of Rega RS3s that I really like, nice warm yet punchy sound in a very British style.

Playing it safe I was wondering if the RS5s are similar but with more weight.

    Can anyone offer any advise?

Sounds about right. More bass, more body and greater scale but still good fun.

The latest RX range builds on that with less colouration and more refinement.

Thanks Dave, what would the going rate be for them secondhand I wonder?

RS5 are much bigger sounding with greater midband insight but if your room is prone to booming they may well be overblown in the bass. They project further into the room as well.

Sound just like what I'm looking for. I'm currently very happy with the Rs3s just what a little more of the same!

Well I picked up a pair of RS5s today and yes they are a step up from the RS3s but share the same musical sound
