It will get the job done, but the results will be less than good.

Don't cheap out on the grinder. It's more important than the machine at budget levels.
Don't intend to Kev. But like I said, for a tenner, it's got to be tried! Full 'reportage' on all the Lidl bits later

I have tried a blade grinder in the past. The results are not good for espresso.
You are better off with a decent hand grinder if not drinking much coffee.

Just bear in mind that pre-ground coffee really starts losing the flavours after about 20 minutes.

All this coffee talk has made me thirsty, so I have just turned my machine on!
It is a pain having to wait 20 to 30 minutes for it to warm up, but the result is worth it.

Lol - can I be allowed to try the bloody thing first and form my own opinion on it, without everyone telling me what's going to happen?!

I am getting used to the steam power now.
I have just found my problem.
I was putting the tip too far in, too early. Just below the surface and the milk (even though it is semi-skimmed) froths nicely.

I just need to stop pouring the last bit of froth in now and lattes are officially nailed!

I am surprised at the speed/power when frothing milk for a latte. It is incredible!
My previous machine had an "auto frothing" wand, so this really has been a learning curve.
