I like your style Adam. Laid back - no doubt enhanced with that ultimate audio tweaker - a fine Malbac.

Sadly over Christmas we have to follow things in a rather military way due to family, driving early enough on Christmas morn and having to Facetime a sprog in a distant land.

Meantime I'm enjoying the Rudy van Gelder playlist in Tidal.

    Catch up soon. Happy tidings.

Our education is wrong, it takes no note of the subtleties of human nature, it places more importance on the memory of an individual than how memorable an individual is. Bernard Sumner 1995

    This..............

Some wonderful music I'm familiar with here, some I'm not so will do a bit of investigating. When I was new to jazz and unsure of where to go the RVG Blue Note was always a tremendous source but I try and branch out a bit from time to time now.

I was given the Bill Evans for Christmas and it's beautiful. I really don't think I need any more BE now !

Oh yes you do . Check out his Live at the Village Vanguard recording. Sublime playing. He's also a standout on the iconic Kind of Blue album (Miles Davis)...in my mind it wouldn't be half the recording without him.

    Enjoy the discovery!

    Hi Svend,

I wasn't very clear in my post, I have lots of Bill Evans ! Funnily enough the Village Vangaurd box set and KoB where the fist two jazz albums I acquired when discovering the joys of the genre.

    ATB.

Ah, I see. Too funny...I assumed it was your first and only Evans album.

And two fantastic recordings to get your first taste of jazz. Well chosen.

Here's what I can't stop listening to these days:

Not the last word in artistic expression, but just great straight-ahead bebop in the west coast style. Gets your toes tapping! We have vols. 1 to 3 of 5; need to buy the last two soon.

    Cheers,
    Svend

Edit: sorry, couldn't get the pic to load at first. Fixed now...

Again the mp3 of the vinyl album. Sounds very good.
