I see you were on C JAM BLUES, at the time. You may not have noticed this, but it is very interesting.

Although the band swing like mad all the way through. They speed up a huge amount. Listen to the tempo at the start, then quickly jump to the near the end.

Incredible, but who really cares, as the amount of swing makes you forget all about it.

I recently heard a track from this album on our local jazz FM station:

Manu Katche, Neighbourhood. Until then I'd only known of him as a session drummer with the likes of Peter Gabriel (he's on the Secret World Live album, which is fantastic, BTW). I didn't know he played jazz.

Very laid-back contemporary sound. Late night or dinner listening.

    Here's another great album:

Charles Lloyd Quartet, Mirror. Also very laid back and contemplative, for late night listening, and, er, meal times (ducking here! ). (Sorry Adam, couldn't resist )

I adore Charles Lloyd, well his ECM output anyway. Great selections mate!
You have inspired me to dig some out.
