3 of our gps are women. all are very nice and good at their job. In fact all the GP's in my practice are very good, as were the retired now ones.

talking with a friend who is a gp in a very large practice with a good number of partners . they have just handed in notice to the nhs and are resigning their practice on mass . its very worrying as we need more GP`s . one was sadly killed a few nights ago on a bike here

they are under incredible stress and not many want to join their ranks

    this makes interesting reading

At the end of our inspection programme of GP practices:
4% were rated outstanding, 86% were good, 8% were requires improvement and 2% were inadequate overall
82% of practices that were first rated as requires improvement or inadequate improved their rating following their most recent inspection

Doesn't sound like there us a problem to me, 90% of practices are good or outstanding.

As for stress, no doubt they thought they were going to pick up their hundred grand a year for doing next to nothing? Must have been a terrible experience when they first took a look in the waiting room and saw all those sick people requiring their attention. I don't think my old GP found the job stressful but then having been in Burma with the japs shooting at him from the bushes he probably had some perspective.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.
