    Default cartridge loading plugs

anyone a dab hand at making these?
id like some at 33k loading to try on my decca cartridge, the maths involved to work out what resistors to use totally baffles me.

Assuming its MM stage with 47k loading you need to use 110k resistor(plug) in parallel with existing one - it will be close to 33k (32.929k).
If you supply RCA plugs and resistors I could solder them for you but I won't be at home for another couple of weeks , PM me if interested

Some like to run Deccas at 47k anyway. JW told me to run my C4E at 33k, but I ran Deccas at 47k for 25 years quite happily. If it sounds fine, then I wouldn't bother.

Cheers Charlie, it was an old post of yours that got me thinking, I’ll keep it as is.

I have experimented with various loading - anything between 15k to 68k. The only thing I noticed was with very low loading values the tracking ability was reduced. So like most people I stick to 47k.

Interestingly, there are some US Decca enthusiasts who prefer to use a cartridge load of 1M.
