There's a lot of truth in that article, and most folks today undoubtedly spend too much time sat on their backsides, but you also have to balance that out with the de-stressing aspect, as a result of *sometimes* being able to just sit down and RELAX, especially in the often stressful world we live in today.

I'd wager that, as long as you're not completely unfit or obese, someone who has the TIME [as a result of having a suitably good work/life balance], to occasionally sit down and relax, and subsequently de-stress, but doesn't perhaps move as much as they should, is as healthy as someone with the same weight and fitness, who's never got a minute to themselves and stressed to buggery, from constantly running around the place like a headless chicken!

As ever with these things, it's a question of balance. Stress, for example due to a demanding job and/or family life, is arguably every bit (if not more) as much of a killer as a lack of exercise.
