Not heard of Tufnol for years. The cam followers on my old AJS 31CSR were made of Tufnol as was the magneto cam - wonderful material

Perhaps a knuckle rap test is a good idea? Find some samples and give them a knock, if it sounds dead, no resonant frequency, that may be your choice?
