I think all RCM are very noisy, but if it does what it needs to do, than i can compromise with noise. lol. I was considering to buy ultrasonic one, read people opinion here, which is not very positive.

Mine was from the first batch ever made, circa 1990,they are bloody noisy,I used to do batches of up to 10 at a time, but with the demise of 2nd hand record shops,it's much less than that now, apart from changing the felt pads once in a while it requires no maintenance.

I have thought of replacing it with something better, but the cost would equate to many LP's and as I don't buy that much now I am quite happy to stick with it.I met a chap earlier this year who has an Audiosystem ultrasonic cleaner, cost a fortune,it now doesn't spin the records, his only option is to return it to the makers and spend £500 for a refurbished machine as it's out of warranty.

BP grade water,I would never buy DI as there are no industry standards,so you could be buying tap water http://pureklenz.co.uk/purified-water-ep/

    IPA https://www.amazon.co.uk/SHL-BRAND-I...1&keywords=ipa

Mix 4 parts water to 1 part IPA and add a surfactant,I use dishwasher rinse aid @ 10ml per 5ltr,been using this for >20 years with no problems.

yes, i use bp water too. once your collection is all clean, unless you buy a lot of records you probably wont use it so much. i dont have to use mine very often. an antistatic gun is imo a requirement too.

A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Not all of them, the Loricraft PRC6 is whisper quiet, it's possible to use it with music on at the same time.

BTW while the Moth is noisy it's still bloody handy and at £200, sensibly priced. (That's about what I sold mine for I think).
