Al do you trust this complete stranger saying it works as it should , and what does that mean anyway??? with a 40+ old R2R player ?????
All Revox need to be completely recapped and fully serviced and then and only then they may be worth £300 -400 but then you would be better off with a B77 or a PR99, and a BR20 would s*it on its face for the same money
    IMHO of course

Alan I have noticed you seem to be obsessed with re caping everything , I did speak to the late Lodgesound Stewart who said its not allways necessary

Yes I would trust a seller who said it works as it should

Im not obsessed with recapping everything only Revox machines , Otari and BR20 rarely need that.
The Revox and actually the Studer machines are full of Frako and philips caps that can fail short and take out the unobtainable ICs so its a risky business running these machines now and I have 4 of them and I am not knocking them they are great when fixed, my Studer A810 is unbelievable
Also the Technics RS1500 is also filled with cheap electrolytic's that need to be replaced but following a recap are also superb machines.
If you wish to continue recommending ebay A77 purchases then as I said good luck with that, hope you can advise people when they don't work ?
