Yes, I wasn't suggesting that vinyl 'heave' during laquer cutting was the sole source of pre-echo, but does contribute, especially when the record grooves are 'nested'. But tape 'print through' will also contribute, though tapes are usually stored 'tails out' to minimise the effect.
