Would one of those 32 include "heterosexual male who sticks his arm up sheep's bums for recreational reasons', or have I identified number 33?

You're preaching to the choir man. But I say just let them get on with it, it isn't bothering me and besides, big screen telly. And we have video 'phones at work. Proper, like on 2001 A Space Odyssey. Just a normal desk 'phone with a little video screen. I mean it is so retro-future you can't believe it. But hardly anyone has their camera switched on because 'I don't like it when people can see me on the 'phone.'

Never predicted that did you, Kubrick?

You're not allowed to say 'dead' anymore, as the 'mortally challenged' may find it offensive. Like the sound of your modern retro orifice though.

There seems to be a lot of bees around at the moment, not sure why.

There is one particularly large bumble bee which has taken up residence in the eaves of an extension we're building. Poor thing faces an uncertain future when the plasterer finally decides to turn up.

It sounds like a carpenter bee. Big fat bumble bee that bores into wood like a drill. One was drilled into a beam on my porch, so I caulked it shut, and darned if he didn’t drill all the way out the other side! I thought you couldn’t dig a hole if there was nowhere to throw the dirt? He must have been eating it and crapping it out the back?

Oh dear, that sounds like a worry! it's a brand new build as well, we can't have it falling down until we're at least back in the van and gone round the corner...

We have our professional standards to consider

Think they are around in southern England now. They are darker in colour. Either way you don't want a bees nest in your eaves

They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Just read up on this stuff, and I reckon it is definitely a queen bumblebee setting up a nest. The nests are quite small with not many individuals. They pose NO threat of damage to timber, and at the end of the summer the nest will die.

The only real problem is that access is from inside the building, but it is recommend that the entrance is blocked, and another more conveniently located entrance made. The bees will then find and use the new entrance. This is what I think I will do as I think bees are pretty cool and I certainly don't wish them any harm.
