As children me and my brothers always liked to witness each 10000 miles rolling over. My dad would always alert us when it was coming up. Does that still happen?

Not likely, kids these days are too busy gawping at their smartphones to care. They wouldn't even notice a lorry rolling over in the next lane, let alone the odometer.

Colin has cracked his Patella after falling over in the snow & ice.. silly old fool

He walked around on it for about 10 days and wondered why it wasn't getting any better so his doc told him to go to the, rather aptly named, 'walk-in centre' at the local hospital where an x-ray showed the crack. I'd been telling him to go since he did it but he always knows best

Now it's all strapped up and he's on crutches and seeing the fracture clinic in a week or so. From what I've read it doesn't heal that quickly so he is really peeved that he can't cycle for at least 8 weeks which is a shame as he just bought his 4th bike, his 3rd carbon jobby

No-one makes a bike for one-legged people then? Gap in the market there.

You can actually ride a 'fixed wheel' bike with one leg.

No idea what that is, Geoff. I owned a 'racing' bike for about a week in 1991. Sold it and bought a quarter of Afghani with the proceeds. Otherwise I know nothing about them.

You can ride a normal bike with one leg if you strap it to the pedal - assuming you have a foot on the end of the leg, or at least a knee and a bit of a stump.

What do you do when you stop at traffic lights then? You'd just fall over. Or are all the cyclists you see running red lights one legged? That would explain a lot.
