I think you're right, wall mounting is the intended method. But my concern would be the weight - based on a rough calculation of an average 5 albums per kg, a filled eight-cube Kallax would weigh in at about 120kg (about 265lb in old money) plus the shelving itself.

But just sat directly on the floor just didn't look right to me, so I cut some pieces of 3x2 timber into 100mm lengths, matt sprayed them black and placed them under the shelving. Looks a bit more like proper furniture now.

I've since come across things like this on Amazon - hundreds of different designs and finishes available - but I'm not changing them now.

And to get around the issue of the albums pushing to the back when taking out/replacing, I'm going to cut 8 pieces of 23x50mm roof tile batten (total cost about 3 quid) and fix them on the shelves towards the back to make a "back stop".

He did some great stuff. Alexi Sayle's Stuff.

Think he's just writing books now since they're not allowed to make good TV shows anymore.

Haven't you seen 'Live from the Apollo'? There's a female one, a black one, and a middle class white guy, or there might be a lesbian, a Muslim guy, and a yes, a middle class white guy, who wants to talk about his kids. They're all about as funny as sitting in a hospital waiting room for a colonoscopy.

What, you're saying a colonoscopy can't be funny?

Yesterday a customer offered me a biscuit from a tub full she had baked in readiness for Eid al-Fitr today, and when I said it was nice she tipped a load into another tub for me to take home. Then her husband appeared from nowhere to give me two bananas. I've had a variety of gifts over the years, but two bananas does seem particularly random.

He could at least have given me a tin of custard to go with them.

Just spent the last two weeks completely redecorating my partner's flat. So that's kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom.

Everybody thinks my overalls are a new sartorial direction for me, and that I have changed my aftershave to white spirits.

It's a look that's been around for a while... Well done with the decorating, but you missed a bit
