They won't do a thing. It's a private estate. If it isn't gone soon, I'll contact the parking enforcement company, although they're next to useless. Considering towing it away myself. Done it before.

At the very least, let down the car's tyres, so that there's less chance of him/her collecting it without you being aware! That way, you can stand there telling them what fuckwits they are, whilst they find a way of re-inflating the tyres...

Also, I presume you've got a tyre pump? If so, then after you've given them their (well-earned) 'mouthful', tell them that you'll let them use the pump if they promise not to park there again, and if they do, next time their tyres will be slashed!

After that, I suspect they'll learn their lesson in future

When that sort of thing happens here I usually phone the local Council's Parking Enforcement team, they quite quickly send someone round to ticket the offender.

Decades ago, my Dad used a potato to similar effect.

On another occasion, a Transit van blocked his drive, he could not get his car out, and he had a business appointment (was in his early 80's at the time). I took a large trolley jack out of the garage, lifted the Transit under the rear axle and pushed it down the road, unfortunately, the van drifted towards the centre of the road as I could not really steer it! Fortunately, there was still room for cars to pass. I guess the Transit driver was surprised when he came back!

I was a construction worker in a previous life, and on a large job site I worked, the architect would blast up in his fancy sports car and just park anywhere he liked. He didn’t want to get his $400 loafers dirty. They were leveling the lot, and he parked right where they were working, and a huge D9 bulldozer backed slam over his car! Crushed it down about ankle high! He was livid! And all of us workers could not contain our laughter, making him all the more red in the face. He stormed off walking, where to I have no clue. He never came back, his assistant made all the return trips. Ah, memories!

My understanding is that while it is an offence to block a private drive preventing someone accessing the public highway from the drive it isn't an offence to stop someone accessing the private drive i.e. if you park in front of an empty drive it isn't an offence but it is if there is a car on the drive. A tad annoying.

I think you are right, or that's the way it used to be, but the Council like the revenue and seem to ticket a blocked drive so long as it got a lowered kerb.

I guess it may be different for different local authorities. Here they will ticket you if you block a pedestrian dropped kerb at an informal road crossing.
