Don't worry - there is (or should be) zero noise from the sp's plinth or any plinth you put it into - it's a true silent runner.

It is incredibly quiet. Very impressive design. Can't say anything negative so far. The sound is fantastic. So clear and well defined.

It's called absolute pitch/speed stability and zero smearing of transient leading edges.

I like it. It's really excellent. I was worried about spending the money as it's taken ages and I had to sell the Toshiba but it's been a huge success.

Very serious bit of engineering the SP10. They didn't muck about with the flagship stuff in Japan in those days. No corners cut. No frippery or bling either. It would be my first choice if I was going back into vinyl. With a Terminator linear tracking arm. I'm a little bit envious
    Current Lash Up:

The SP10 is very very very hard to beat by any currently available decks. It provides you with the perfect base from which to upgrade arms and carts and in that respect (neutrality, pitch) is a reference. Only my opinion of course.

It's a good piece. I'm completely shocked at just how good it is. Must give a nod to Angus. He's basically made it from parts, a "Frankenstein" if you will.

I can only imagine this TT would be capable of Getting the best out of any arm or cart.

Yep, Well known that the SP10 from birth was a serious / genuine audiophile turntable in stock form. That was the clear intent from Technics
