Mine didnt cost £7K but it would if you buy everything at full cost

    Ortofon Cadenza black £1825
SME V £4292 (if you include the same wiring that I've got)
    Ebony armboard £65
    Mike New platter/bearing/baseplate £1000 ?
Yannis Tome Tonearm cable £500 (could have been more)
    Isonoe Feet £125
Paul Hynes Internal Regs £350??? (cant remember the price)
    Complete PCB recap £75
Complete internal rewire to silver £100 (I used solid 3mm silver)
Technics 1210 £300 for a semi decent deck?
    Analog Audio Crystal mat £75
A decent power lead for PSU £100 (mines DIY)

So its actually more like £8-9K. I only paid £2K for my SME V and cadenza black, so I saved £4K. I don't think anyone else has had the PCB main modded or fully internally wired with solid core silver. So, yep it was costly. Would I swap it. Errr, no. Would I buy the new SP10R, yeah, I think I'm getting one next year when I've heard it.

    A little update,

I've had the SP10 And Phonomac at1010 set up with a AT33PTGII for a couple of days and what a fantastic cartridge it is! So detailed and smooth. A real bargain. Only loses out to the ZYX bloom in dynamics and slam IMO. Fantastic cartridge considering its £200 cheaper it's a no brainer.

Really enjoying the sound I've got here. Especially with the Slagle preamp I've just bought from Ali Tait !!!!!

    Lol, I'm now brassic

    Serves you right!
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
