Well I listen mainly to Prog influenced music and I have been using Grado SR125e's. However I have come to the conclusion that I do not like headphones so they are now on ebay. Each to their own as always.

I tried and failed to sell some JBL Synchros 700S cans a few months ago for a mere pittance (£35 for £200 cans) - superb on prog and rock.
No-one wanted them - I gave them away in the end!

Well...I've been trying quite a few from my collection and my current favourite has to be the Ultrasone HFi 580 - Locomotive Breath, Mocking Bird etc sound stunning through them - rest of chain is vortexbox, MF V-Link 192, Bushmaster DAC and Capella Headphone Amp.

A really 'big' spacious sound, the S logic sees to that, and the nice big driver gives solid good bass.

I have the more expensive HFi 780 as well, not so good for Prog etc, bass is less and treble more - but fantastic for simpler acoustic stuff.
