    If you are up to taking the amp to Sheffield I would recommend the excellent Class A http://hifi-repairs.com/ based in Moorgate Acoustics shop
    I have had two NAD amps and a Sugden amp sorted out there he use to charge £25 to look at amp plus whatever cost depending of course out what parts and work needs doing
    Really impressed by the servicing he does feel he is one of us and will make sure any kit he services is a new or better and at a very reasonable price

    That’s a great shame. Mind you, they have 20++branches, so I guess there’s good & bad.
    FWIW, my experience is that on more than one occasion people have had itemised paperwork of the repair job done, & that’s all that’s been paid out. No “Handling charge” or any other iffy add-ons.
