My view FWIW is that a better match would be something from the KT88 family or at least EL34 ... but interesting all the same.

Right now the Hiraga is sounding very good, but my heart is set on the Leben 660p. I finally got a reply from the dealer in Scotland with the price so I replied that I wanted the v amp and asked how to proceed - that was 10 days ago and not heard anything back. Makes me wonder if he actually has it.

If it's Retro Reproductions that you're dealing with, he's rather haphazard with his communication ime, but he's OK (bought a couple of things from him). Certainly, he's been in business for years and his prices are fair. It is an odd business model, though ... let's make sure the customer is really serious by making it as difficult as possible for them to contact me

If the Leben deal falls through ... this (above) is what I'd strongly recommend. Personally, having heard both the 660P and STA100 with 12 inch Tannoys, I thought the Radford was the better amp. Will's workmanship on restorations is extraordinary, too.

Yes I've been in touch about the Radford - but what I like about the Leben is its versatility with tubes at the flick of a switch.

Will email the guy again lol.
