    Default New stylus or cartridge

    Currently got a 2m red fitted so but had problems with hum spoke to local sealer and he said the red some times does that so do i upgrade to a2m blue or he said look at a Audio Technica VM520EB Dual mm Cartridge .
    Advice please on a very restricted budget £125 max

    There isn't really anything wrong with a 2m blue. My advice would be to put a wanted ad in the Private exhibitions area and let the cartridges come to you. If you can find a Technics EPC (forgot the numbers) for that money, I'd suspect you'd be very happy.

    You won't find an EPC-U205 with a decent stylus for that money.
    If it has the original stylus, the chances are that the suspension is shot anyway, and will need replacing. It is a good cartridge, but so it an AT150MLX if you can find one second hand, but it all depends what sound you are after.

    can be used through your mm phono stage I believe being high output mc - Be quick !!

    Very low hours (50hrs) according to seller who has 100% feedback across 911 transactions so looks a safe bet IMO

    Great shout Robbie. Didn't realise the 205 had gone up that much. One passed through my hands for £120 a couple years back.

    You can still get a 205 cheap, but it won't have a decent stylus.

    Missed the denon dl110 poxy internet thoughts on the Goldring 1020 MM cartridge?
