Good but expensive. Pretty on the ball in the rare circumstances of a fault with the line etc. My biggest bugbear is with the phone line from them. The phone only rings 4 times (four sets of the normal 2 rings) before their answering service kicks in and believe it or not there is no way to get round this AFAIK. Fine if you're in the same room but if you are taking a leak when the phone rings... I'm sick of having to sprint to the phone, usually just avoiding tripping over the cat in the process!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I've been with Talktalk for 10 years now, they have improved, I supposed they had to! They nearly always offer me a good deal after a bit of negotiating.

For broadband, TV (which I don't use), phone package that gives me free UK calls to landlines and mobiles, and line rental, all lumped together= £24.99 per month.

Why don't you just turn the voicemail off, or get it turned off, and fit a telephone answering machine instead?
I'm assuming that you want folk to be able to leave messages.

Crap, was with them for a few years. All this stuff about being hacked etc. We had a few problems, they couldn't give two hoots what problems we were having. Few friends left too ( talk talk box problems ). Now with BT, only reason why they gave you £150.00 when we joined, not sure we will stay as after 12 months, as charges increase. Fine for now though.

Like I said you can't turn it off AFAIK. I did look into it and it's a common complaint about talk talk.

That's about a tenner less than I'm paying for what sounds like the same service... Hmm must look into this! I don't use TV either...

Funny thing, Talktalk seems to be one of the few companies that appears to take loyalty in to consideration. On my last bill, I had one call lasting nearly two hours, As it was over the 1 hour allowed free, I was charged just under £5. I spoke to them and said that although I knew the number called to, I didn't recollect it being nearly two hours. They looked in to my call history and saw that this long call was not typical, and without any pushing, credited my account with the cost of that call.

That's strange because I'm with TalkTalk and don't have their answering service....I use a phone with its own answering machine.
