    Default Digitising Old Kodak Slides

I have inherited hundreds of 35mm negs mounted in slides. I don't have a projector. But I want to digitise them.

All family history stuff going a long way back.

What's the best way to get a high quality result? I am prepared to buy hardware and resell it on eBay after use. Max budget £500.

I do not own a DSLR, so no fangled h/w designed to do the job with one applies here.

    Thanks in advance.

I did this a number of years ago. Got a dedicated scanner for slides/negatives and a software package which will be needed as the slides often degenerate and get dusty etc. Did quite a few after I sussed how to get decent results and was bringing up bearable pics from red slides etc. So, once you kinda master it, its fairly quick; ie, 5 mins a slide. (you probably wont do all that many if youve hundreds). Think I did about 60/80 all told.
Some can do it all automatically and save it to an sd card these days bypassing a pc. Trick is to get one that can do high quality quickly, as with soe the high quality can take an age.

This is a good one but you need a computer(mine was similar although a fair bit older) comes with some excellent software for removing scratches etc

I think I am actually gonna follow Grant's recommendation.

That's odd whever I ask for forum advice I usually read the recommendations then do or get something else.

I have an elderly Canon slide scanner, it was quite expensive but of high quality. However the associated software is now no longer supported and not compatable with the latest platforms.

I have thousands of travel slides to scan. It would be nice to burn the digitised images onto a CD.
