Still got my epson flatbed scanner(perfection 4490) stashed away. Not used it for years, but it was quite high up and could do transparencies too although a bit fiddly and slow at higher rates of dpi. No need of these things nowadays. If I need a doc scanned I can get it done somewhere ot take a scan with a phone. Technology makes many things obsolete so quick, and one reason I like audio as the old stuff is often still viable

Kodachrome can be a difficult to scan.

I can endorse the Plustek but make sure you buy one with the scratch and dust removal software. Also, be aware that scanning and cleaning up the image takes a lot of time, especially at the highest resolutions.

Otherwise, I have had good results from projecting the slide on to a large screen and using a digital camera on a tripod to photograph the results. I know you don't have either item but I am sure that you could borrow them from someone.

99% of my slides are Kodachrome, with about 40 slides shot on Agfa CT-18 and about 40 on Ektachrome.

    This scanning software is good.
You might want to do a bit of research before committing to anything though?

I use an Epson V700 scanner that comes with Digital ICE software that automatically removes scratches and other nasties. Fantastic scanner that I have now had since 2006.

You may find it is still supported by Vuescan software which specialises in supporting legacy scanners - you can try it for free and buy various 'depths' of license.

I have thousands of travel slides to scan. It would be nice to burn the digitised images onto a CD.
