No! Don't touch the TA-FA3ES. Two very different ranges. The 3 is later and about when Sony were winding their range down.

Complicated it is. Generally speaking though aim for kit starting with 5 or higher in ES ranges.

The CDP338ESD continues to amaze me! It's a bit of a forgotten gem.
Super mechanism, copper power bars, dual PCM58J.

OK, cheers, I'd like to try a more powerful amp, so that I can then try some mini monitors, as these are power hungry so I hear. Currently a dedicated Naimie, with the classic 72/140/hicap, but want to try a high end Sony integrated.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Well my Naim cd has arrived and is in the system

My initial impressions are actually not that good. My current transport and dac sound better than the Naim

So the Naim may well be sold on

However I have an urge to try a Chord Dac with the Naim as transport as I do love the drawer loading system of the Naim
