    Default Posting hifi abroad

    Hi All,

I've had a request to post an item of hi-fi to spain, has anyone used a courier or post service they could recommend please?

Obviously the item will need to be fully insured to cover its full value.

    Thanks in advance.

    cheers,

I stopped flogging stuff abroad years ago as I considered it too much hassle and fraught with fraud.

I have used UPS for 10 years and never had even the slightest hitch. Everything they carry is loaded onto shelving in the van and not chucked onto a heap. Can't praise them enough.

If the money has been transferred bank to bank, you will be OK. Payment by cheque can take up to 14 days to be safe, as I found out to my cost some years ago.

I posted to Denmark last month and used parcel monkey. It was pretty pain free once I'd set the account up. trackable, insured and managed through the post office.

Most of the HiFi-stuff is excluded from insurance, with almost all of the couriers.

I've posted Hifi abroad via parcelforce , dhl dpd with no issue and was able to insure with them, you don't always know who's going to deliver once it's abroad though, I work for Royal mail and we get stuff posted from abroad via other couriers and we get to deliver it

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Indeed and knowing how to pack correctly a massive issue. Often folks selling think that getting the sale is it and anything will do after that.... nope. Pack to survive WW3 and it will get there in one piece. When I buy or think I am going to buy I usually give advice regarding packing, and if the seller shows little interest or says that's too much/hard I walk.

Turntables are the most difficult thing but its doable, if you know what you are doing. I have pretty strong views regarding collection only people, particularly when its not that hard to pack the thing they are selling. I will however hold my virtual tongue.

Its not that hard to do things right, but it does require giving a shit to start with.
    Regards Neil
