Hi.
Thanks to Marco for (re)activating my account here.
I have been a lot on PFM but find many good threads and reads here, so I will present myself here.
I live in Denmark, am an upper-secondary English language and literature teacher. I am 54.
I used to be a Naim kind of guy starting around 1993 with a Nac 62 + Nap 140, but my main set-up, which is in my small study, has been in a state of flux for the past three years since I sold off my Naim Nap 252 + Sc + 2 x Naim nap 200 + Linn Tunebox and Linn Ninkas. Since then quite a lot of gear has been through here:
Preamps: Tisbury Mini Pre x 2, Nac 32, Nac 32.5, Nac 12 (non-standard) + with standard and RSL preamp boards, EAR 868L + PL (current) ---> coming in: EAR 912
Power amps: Nap 150x, Nap 160, Perreaux SX60m monos, Butler TDB 2250 hybrid power amp, Sugden P28 (current)
Phono stages: Ortofon T20, internal Naim phono boards, Ryan Sound Labs mc board, Perreaux SXV2, Arkless Turbo+ (modified Cambridge phono stage), Ayre P5ex, Primare R32, internal board in EAR 868PL (current) ----> coming in: EAR 912 (internal phono stage)
Turntables: (since 1984 Thorens TD160 mkii (modified to Super) + Morch UP4 + Ortofon MC200 / Ortofon MC30 mkii / Denon 103r ---> Amazon-Audio Reference + Morch UP4 + Benz Gulwing SLR (current from a month ago)
Speakers: Rega R1, Naim N-Sats, Audio Note AX1, Magnepan MC1 (+ 2 x Dynaudio MC250 subs), Magnepan MG 1.7, System Audio Pandion 2, 47 Laboratory 4722 Lens (current)
After I get the EAR 912 in the house (and 2 x 868 sold), I will have to save up a little for a nice power amp. I would really love to get an EAR 890, EAR 861 or EAR 509s - but that is mostly a pipe dream for the foreseeable future. Oh, and I have a set of V-Fets on order in Czech with JohnW - but when exactly those will be built, I do not know.
Music I like: right now I am revisiting The Jam, "Setting Sons" on the TT. But I like a lot of rock, new wave and oldie stuff. Bob Dylan, The Stranglers, Talking Heads, Tom Waits, Tom Petty, Willie Nile, The Beatles, The Kinks, Johnny Cash, OMD, The Clash, Elvis Costello, Depeche Mode, Portishead, Einstürtzende Neubauten, Blumfeld / Jochen Distelmeyer, Five Eight (Georgia, USA), Pink Floyd (until 1981 or so), Leonard Cohen, a bit of Jazz, not really classical music or country and western.
Greetings,
Peter
