I'd have that over stratospherically priced stuff like TechDas any time. Technics do seem intent on shaking up both ends of the new turntable market!

I love my sp10mk2 - but know which I'll be saving up for.... In my opinion this particular line of Technics cannot be beat. Absolute pitch stability and neutrality. Better start writing to Santa Claus

Oh my, now there's something to think about...

If anything was likely to rekindle my interest in 'dicking around' again with my system, that would be it!! Let's see what the final price ends up being. If Adrian is right, I could be tempted.

    I must have one.
Lyrics are the ramblings of man, sometimes inspired by The Creator, most often, not.
But music (melodies, harmonies, rhythms), that's God stuff.
    Always was. Always will be.

One of the biggest lies ever told was that only certain kinds of people should listen to certain kinds of music.

What a splendid idea. Very, very tempted. My V would be (probably) a very good match with one of these

I think it will be difficult for Technics to improve on the sp10 - 2/3 by a magnitude of difference. Torque may be higher but a MK3 or MK2 with something like a tenuto mat is very very difficult to stop unless excessive force is used. Just how strong is needle drag? Silent running will also be difficult to beat as even with a stethoscope a well sorted MK2 or 3 is absolutely silent, not even a hiss.

So, will this next level of engineering improve on an already flawless performance? I doubt it - from the viewpoint of the listener - but do I want one when I already have one of their best? Of course - I'm an audiophile afterall!
