Lots of ways, headphone socket (3.5mm) to phono cable is simplest, dac with USB input, or you can use the same 3.5mm socket and a digital optical cable into a compatible dac.

Dac options are long and varied best discussed with some idea of budget?

No connection to the seller, but I had one of these

Plug n play connection, as analogue as I've heard around that price range.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I use a Mini Toslink to Toslink Optical Cable into a DAC.
    This type. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/15143...D1297420703380

TOSLINK or USB to SPDIF is the way to go.

He he, TOSLINK is optical, which most Macs have. If your DAC doesn't support TOSLINK, but coax (RCA or BNC cable) SPDIF instead, then you use a USB to SPDIF converter to get the signal into your DAC.

I got a Audio Synthesis Dax2 which replaced the Ciunas, since upgraded to Dax Decade. I think the Ciunas was a highlight in sound per pound even if the box isn't flashy. It's plug n play which the earlier JK 32 isn't.
