Rather like Chris, I could only endure a minute or two of this.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Well we all got a laugh out of it! Maybe it was a comedy?! Dark satire?

It has pushed my buttons, and very many of them.

Firstly I am annoyed by his (now orthodox) lack of clear enunciation, this now a trend in all our 'middle class' BBC contributors. It underlines a lack of conviction in the speaker, and also serves to obscure any lack of intellectual coherence by freeing the speaker more from criticism.

It also exposes this regrettable age of political correctness in which, because we wish not to offend anyone and demotivate them, we praise them in extreme for everything, regardless of its merit. (17% in exams is now a pass).

The result of this is idiots full of self belief talking inane bollocks, and thinking they are so incisive and original whilst inanely stating the trivial. It is paralleled by people sending pics of meals to friends, resulting in a world full of people, as Al Stewart said, 'Walking like Greta Garbo and talking like Yogi bear'.

So PC has resulted in lack of incisiveness, deep analysis and thinking, and a loss of humility, all to 'make everyone feel OK'.

I actually like New Record Days reviews and there is no music played because of You Tubes copyright issues. Its not unheard of for entire posts to be pulled, accounts terminated or even the sound removed, that happened to Michael Fremer not long ago.

AV Showroms gets round the music issue by having permission and promoting a few artists and frankly I get tied of the music choice but I am not going to call Peter names for playing music that at least gets us to hear the gear.

Folks maybe I am a tad old fashioned here but is it really needed or called for to call people names whos views or presentation you don't like. Just say I don't like that guys way of doing things and move on, using expletives isn't needed imho.
    Regards Neil

Fair point Neil, maybe i didn't need to use the word twat, but for me that guy is so annoying, on the + side he is also comedy gold with his expressions and smug over the top commentary .

It reminds me of one of the reasons why I've largely taken a back seat now with hi-fi (apart from having mostly achieved my goals, sonically), as I have little in common with those kinds of nerds (i.e someone who'd sit down and record a video like that)....

But I guess each to his or her own

No its just an introduction for dummies and I would rather you didnt point these things out as I generally avoid them. It was just a trash blurb thats becoming all too prevalent in a dumbed down world

I skipped through it as I knew from the intro that it was rubbish. I also resent the patronising overtones that its a bit mad to be spending out on expensive audio equipment

It may be of some interest to someone that knows nothing about the pusuit of better sound.

I hope nobody on this forum needs an ABC 6 minute intro to "high fidelity" delivered in that fashion

It may be bad, but it's not as inane and clueless as the ebay speaker buying guide.
