Default RasPi and IR remote set-up

Anyone here had any luck trying this?
I have added the IR receiver to my Justboom Digihat board (on RasPi 2 with Moode v3.8) and followed the instructions here:

    https://www.justboom.co/tutorials/co...r-remote-lirc/

So far I have managed to get the IR receiver configured correctly so the RasPi reacts to a remote sender (completed Section1) but when it comes to Section 2 and 'training' a remote I have only managed to bugger up the OS (twice!!) - requiring a reflash back to scratch. GRRRRR!!!!

Anyone got any further with this and can offer advice or useful links?

Have a look on the Volumio Forum, I think I saw some info there.

Many thanks for the tip Mike .. checked it out and there is indeed a thread on it
Looks very similar to the Justboom procedure but with some key differences so will give it a go.

Excellent, I thought I'd read something over there

Even better - it worked !!

Only three buttons active (play, stop and power off) but that's three more than I had before
I reckon with a bit of work I might get there ... will post more if I do.

Once again, many thanks for the tip

    YAY!!
Now got a full functional remote - a bit of fiddling about and reading between the lines but all the functions I need are mapped onto the remote keys I wanted to use. The power button now functions to reboot the RasPi ... for the odd occasion that that's needed.

Sure - all this can be done using my phone, but the IR remote doesn't go into sleep mode during tracks or get left somewhere in the house I can't quite remember. Also leaves the phone free to use for other activities (like taking a call..) without having to flip between functions (to mute the music, for instance)

All in all, a few hours well spent ... and a redundant remote brought back into action
