I think that you need to pay to link your photos to a third party site. Try using another hosting site such as Imgur.

Hi Neil, there was a thread I posted about them as they had a problem when I got them but I can't find it by searching. The voice coils were rubbing, but they are a very unconventional design. The bass unit has no conventional surround the rubber has been removed and the cone bonded to the planar panel. I suppose it give the 10" unit a much larger area to radiate. However, I think the design was flawed in that the planar panel is only secured at the four corners. To fix the rubbing coils I had to make wedges to place around the perimeter of the panel and this effected a cure...sort of, later on I had to add more as some strange buzzing noises started.

There is very little info on the net about these. All I could find from EAR is a show report from the US where they were demonstrated. Tim De Paravicini is said to have designed them, but he did not make them. I emailed him and he gave the info as to who had made them, but I didn't get any further. There were two sizes going to be available. I don't know if mine are the smaller or larger of the two. They were to have retailed around the 5,000 mark, but I have never seen anything to suggest that they were in fact ever sold.

Here is a vid I posted some time ago.

The review I mentioned is here.

Thanks for the detail, yeah, Tim De Paravicini is an idiosyncratic designer indeed.

Yes. That is a bit grim Timothy. I've had a tinker with the image for you, but as you say, a camera would help. And don't take shots into the light unless you use fill-in flash.

    Mr. Tact!

Main system: MMs/ADCs/Low output MC's/One rare Japanese SUT/One scarce British phono stage/various tonearms/hefty Japanese DD TT and hefty Japanese BD TT and small British BD TT. 4 CD players/2 jitter buster/2 DACs/Valve buffer. TVC stepped attenuator or valve pre-amp or solid state pre-amp. Current dumping power-amp or either of two Class A SS power-amp or Class A EL34 valve monos or big Japanese (part Class A) integrated. Big dual concentric speakers/Smaller dual concentric speakers/Two way British compacts and full range speakers, amongst others. And too much more to list!

He is. I asked him personally how his turntable works and he said 'by magic'.

    I believed him.

    Not many magic turntables around

Thanks Geoff, sorry for the bad effort there. Some day....Sad when you cannot even make out the components, I was thinking why bother. Yes, why indeed.
