Default Who would have thought ONKYO made such gear?

Not much going on so thought I would just peruse the net for some hi-fi as you do and came across these (link below),after having a number of there receivers prior to returning to proper hi-fi, I for one never thought ONKYO produced such gear, simply I wonder how it would all sound and can any modern gear be as good as these? and only asking $10 or offers or p/ex (I Jest).

I love the look, pretty much all the Jap companies did some high end stuff like that. All the kit he wants to swap it for is very rare as well.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

Classic example of the kind of (extremely capable) high-end Jap gear, which never graced our shores during the heyday of the 70s and 80s, mainly due to us being brainwashed by dealers and the media, that such stuff was simply 'Jap crap', and outperformed by a more 'musical sounding' Naim Nait, NAD or some such!

However, the set up of that system is shocking, with the speakers WAY too close together, a sideboard sat between them and a bloody plastic TV behind.... No wonder some so-called 'audiophiles', with plenty of cash but not much clue, never get to appreciate the full potential of some of the gear they use!
