    Default Calibration tapes

I was so impressed with these cal tapes I bought 4 of them
    2 speeds for my studer A810 and 2 for my BR20 both 7.5 & 15"
I really like the full range of tones, I seem to be able to get my recorders freq response flatter

    Alan,

They look excellent value. First thing you need, apart from some isopropyl alcohol and wipes to clean the heads.

I also have 4 MRL tapes, but I am finding these tapes much better at getting an overall flat frequency playback response.
The BASF tape stock is also good no sticky shed and very stable levels.
I buy 99% isopropyl alcohol by the gallon

    Alan,

MRL use SM911 tape for their calibration tapes, not Ampex, ATR or other US makes. SM911 doesn't degrade or get SSS.
