There are loads of cover versions i like, but i wouldn't say they are of my favourite songs. There are a few different versions of songs by the same band i like too, maybe a different singer etc. Good example would be Tom Jones and CSNY.
All along the watch tower a classic cover, the Hendrix version, also the Alun Bown set. Story goes Hendrix heard them record their version in the next studio to him and then recorded his.
Walk on by , the stranglers, and Isaac Hayes..
So a few of mine, but again not so much favourite songs, but good covers, and not so much covers but good if not odd.

    bit cheese but hey.

Best cover versions I can think of are Jimi Hendrix cover of Bob Dylan's 'All Along The Watchtower'. Spooky Tooth's cover of the Beatles 'I Am The Walrus' and David Bowie's cover of the Beatles 'Across The Universe'. Elton John's cover of the Beatles 'Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds' was pretty damn good too.

Funny (or maybe not) how many Beatles covers there are.

Whole lotta love, many versions out there too. I like Goldbug version amongst others, mix with Pearl & Dean, Bass very deep on the 12" and CD single.

Bit obvious but Joe Cocker's version of With a Little Help from my Friends - not one of the Beatle's finest. How about a whole LP? Jennifer Warnes, Famous Blue Raincoat. Another Leonard Cohen cover, Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah.
