Default WTD: TT needed Basic Rega Planar 2, 3 or something for a Rega arm

    Hi,

My son fancies taking my Queen albums (and a few others) to his own flat and needs a basic spinner that takes the 23mm Rega mount arm. Budget is not much (I will probably need to pay ) and I already have a highly modified RB250 and a cartridge to fit.

    What have you?

    Cheers .......... Steve

I would like him to use the RB250; a strong arm to learn with

Not that strong. The finger lift breaks off at the slightest provocation. Get him a PL-12D. They take abuse and go on forever.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Where did you get that idea from ? I've been selling Rega since the mid 70s and never seen a broken finger lift..

I've seen several. There was one on sale here very recently.

Some are, but most have just been broken off. The first RB300 I bought second hand was like it. Clearly snapped not cut.

I've had a dozen RB250's, and the finger lift was always Strong as an oxe.

Geoff, maybe your index finger is far too cantankerous

A dozen seems a bit greedy.
