Thanks for the update Paul, I sort of understand now.

Yes, my TT is the Townsend Rock 7 / Merlin PS / SME V / Decca London Jubilee Reference. Second cart is a Decca Super Gold, Third Cart is the Benz Wood SL. " sorry, but love em all".

All very different but in a lovely musical way.

Just looking for a TT not Front end damped for a bit of a comparison (sorry, but not had another make TT in the last 50 years) a bit sad I know...... All Townsend models though the years.

Paul, PM me if still of interest. I have a few questions to ask, prior to a deal.

No problems if you have other potential buyers.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Wow! The plinth is amazing! Who made it? Was thinking of doing a similar DIY one for my DP-2000.

The arm is pretty cool as well though surprised it works with the Shure Ultra I'd have expected to be matching it with something of much lower compliance.

I did, ply with rosewood veneer and solid rosewood legs. Aluminium sub plinth water jet cut to my design and arrived so rough I spent hours sanding and then a friend polished it.
