Default The Donkey Walker With A New Job

Another new job thread from the Donkey Walker, there has been a couple over the years.

I very reluctantly handed my notice in to The FaradayCentre last week.
I have very much enjoyed my time there, I have learned alot about myself and given me confidence to train others in LV/HV systemsreally enjoyed the HV Protection courses I ran.
It can be surprisingly hard tostand in front of a group of candidates and talk confidently about a technicalsubject. Not done that previously.

I have accepted a position with a company B&W Volundas the facility Electrical Engineer on a 40MW Biomass power station. I will becommissioning the plant for the construction company
Then running and maintaining it’s systems, during the operations phase.

Looking forward to the challenge, not going to be an easyride, there will be some fun times ahead, I’m up for it all.

Sounds like a good job Andy. Interesting too.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Hi Guys

    Cheers for your comments.
The position will be a challenge, I have commissioned HV transformers and switchboards previously, from 132kV 11kV and 6.6kV.
The challenge will be the step up to the management role, only a fairly small permanent onsite staff.
Al, your comment 'That doesent look like a speaker factory ' might explain their puzzled look when I turned up for the interview and launched in to speaker driver design and crossover implementation
Even after all that, they still offered me the position

Best of luck Andy, you'll do fine.
“Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”

Well I've had my last day at The Faraday Centre.
Had a nice surprise, they got me a cake (Monkey Shaped, they could be telling me something there?) and a card signed by all.
The MD came down to see me off too, which was a nice honour as he had never done that before.
shame to go. I have really enjoyed my time there. The new adventure begins in 2 weeks.
Lots of thoughts about he new position, excited about it all and greatly looking forward to the start
