Default Linn Basik & Ortfon Blue?

As per title would the Ortofon Blue be suitable for the Linn Basik Plus arm on my Axis turntable?

I see no reason why not, I would check room between cartridge and pin outs on the tonearm, the 2M cartridges are quite bulky and would not fit my Akito.

As with all cartridges alignment is paramount, alignment protractors are a must, as is VTA and VTF.

Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs.

It should be OK but take a look at the new Audio Technica VM95 range. Their VM95 EN is a similar spec to the 2M Blue but is only £99. You can have a Shibata tipped VM95 SF for £179.

For £9 more, you could have the new VM95ML. This new cartridge has a better body and coils than the old model and is fitted with a Micro Line stylus.

I know where I would put my money.

I have been tempted to nab one of these to have a play, having been previously impressed by the AT150MLX. This approach would also be my preference over the AT95 + paratrace.

Yes, seems like a no-brainer to me. I've been waiting for this range for some time as it tidies up all the old confusing models.

Been talking with a very knowledgeable cartridge guy on another forum. He seems to think I have made the correct choice for my deck. I am none to confident about swaping cartridges etc so for me this is perfect.
