jj ecc83'S are also good, I'd steer clear of Russian clone Mullard ECC83's and if you can find some try the original yellow label Mullard ECC83's (I have these in my EAR 834p).

If it's for a home brew amp then the provenance is less important as you can tweak the circuit to suit the behaviour of the tube, so I suggest cheapo unloved older Chinese burner valves. They measure well, tend to be triple mica for reduced microphonics and work without issue IME. Honestly they are quite decent, and throw away prices to boot.

    Hi Rexton,
Can you say what was wrong with the Russian Mullards in your experience?

I have just received my EAR 834P clone and am looking to buy the 3 tubes myself.

    Thanks

The Russian Mullards were ok but just about everything I tried bettered them.
