Default WTD: 8m of decent yet not expensive mains cable.

    Hi all.

Does anyone have 8m (or 7.3m) of decent mains cable going? I'm want to make some long mains leads up.

I've been looking at Belden or something like that.

If so please let me know.

    Thanks
    Jo

The Belden is excellent VFM Jo , especially for the length you need , and it's shielded . I would also give David at MCRU a shout as he may be able to help .

    Thanks Brian.

I've never used MCRU before to be honest, I'm sure lots would be shocked to hear. lol...

I may just pop an email over.

    Shielded would be nice though.

just a piece of advice: before going for the Belden do check first the capacitance and inductance of the exact cable in question, chances are that your ancilliaries might not like its effect...

The Belden would be my choice and MCRU are extremely professional to deal with as well as very competitively priced.

As long as the runs aren't very long and the speaker impedance is not low (say 3-4 Ohms), 0.75mm (6A) flex would probably be fine.

I have this leftover off a reel, 7.6 meters of good quality three core with screen.

I used some of the same on Marco's Nas power supply.
